Between July 2022 and June 2024, MOLA undertook excavations ahead of the construction of the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Improvement Scheme. The sites revealed information about how Iron Age pioneers ventured into the claylands of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire to expand their settlements, and how they developed into theRoman period and beyond.
